Welcome to the Skeletal Training Course!

The purpose of this course is to develop core knowledge and understanding of the principles of skeletal biology and the main laboratory and population-based approaches to assessing alterations of skeletal biology leading to disease.

To access the course in WebCT:

  1. Go to http://www.mcgill.ca/webct/.
  2. Click the “Sign in” link at the top right hand corner of the page.
  3. Sign in using your Minerva ID and password.
  4. After you sign in, click the “WebCT Vista” link on the right hand sign of the page under the heading “Go to WebCT”.
  5. In WebCT, click the “Medicine Development - Centre for Bone and Periodontal Research”
  6. For more information about how to use WebCT or for more WebCT help, see https://home.mcgill.ca/webct/students/start/.  You may have to sign in as directed above before gaining access to this link.

Completing the course in WebCT:

Download the Skeletal Training Course syllabus

You must complete one module per week starting on July 31, 2006.
No access to future modules will be allowed prior to the date indicated in the syllabus.
Once you complete a topic, you can revisit it as many times as you would like

Please read the course syllabus before starting.  The syllabus is also available in WebCT.  The syllabus will give you detailed information about what is expected of you and how to complete the course.

Each week, go to the topic for that week as indicated in the syllabus and complete the topic in the following order:

  1. Read the background article
  2. Complete the pre-test
  3. Download handouts to follow presentation (optional)
  4. Watch the lecture
  5. Complete the post-test
  6. Interact on the discussion board

In the final week of the course, you must complete the final survey of the course.  The final survey will give us crucial feedback about the lectures, tests and structure of the course.  The course will not be considered to be completed until the final survey has been submitted.
